Rae Anne Boothe is in her first season as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Friends University. Relocating from the southeast, Coach Rae is excited to be a part of what she believes is a great university that is committed in striving for excellence in the classroom, in the community, and in athletics. For every member of this team, being here is truly a privilege. Coach Rae's goal is for each member to improve as a basketball player. She believes that what is even more important than basketball improvement is that we all continually improve as people in all aspects of life.
We as a coaching staff, strive to create an atmosphere that will hopefully allow this team to possess characteristics very similar to those of a family. It is our philosophy, that the character of each individual is more important than the player. We believe that we have great people on this team that genuinely care about each other and come to work hard and get better every day. Every family is a work in progress, as is ours, and with challenges that will arise throughout the season we look forward to using those to help us become a stronger and more united family.
There are many people who support Friends University athletics, women's basketball, and the individual student-athletes; without this support we would not have the privilege of being a member on this team. We will continually strive to represent ourselves in a manner that deserves continued support from our fans and more importantly our university
With a new system, a handful of new players, and a new coaching staff we know that every day is precious and time cannot be wasted. With a tough non-conference schedule we will be able to evaluate where we are early enough to hopefully improve our weaknesses before we begin conference play. Our first two home games are against Baker University and Hastings College; both of which have great reputations and will be a test. We will also face John Brown University before the Christmas break. Playing these teams will help immensely in our preparation for fourteen straight conference games that will complete the regular season schedule.
She holds a Bachelors degree in Education and a Masters in Organizational Leadership
