Coach Segovia heads into his seventh season as the head coach of the Lady Falcon softball team. In his first five seasons Coach Segovia has been named KCAC Coach of the year four times. (2005,2007,2008,2009). In 2008 Coach Segovia was named Region IV Coach of the Year.
Along with winning the KCAC league title in 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009, during the 2005 season the team set a school record with a 17 game winning streak. In 2008 the Lady Falcons broke 2005's streak by winning 32 straight games in a single season. In 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 Coach Segovia guided the Lady Falcons to four straight KCAC Tournament Championships along with three trips to the Region IV tournament. In 2008 The Lady Falcons captured their first Region IV title in softball history. The Falcons also qualified for the NAIA National Tournament in Decatur, Alabama for the first time in School history. In 2009 the falcons made it back to the National Tournament in Decatur, Alabama. The Falcons finished ranked number #22 in the final NAIA Top 25 coaches poll for the first team in school history. In just five seasons, Coach Segovia has compiled a record of 156-72 (.684)
Coach Segovia comes to Friends University from McPherson College. At McPherson College, Segovia was a student assistant softball coach in 2000, and then both a softball and football assistant coach from 2002-2004. Coach Segovia is originally from Oklahoma and then came to McPherson College where he graduated in 2000 with his B.S. in Health and Physical Education. Coach Segovia completed his master degree from Friends University. Coach Segovia's wife, Melissa, is a Biology teacher at Rose Hill High School. She is also the head JV Volleyball coach.

2009 39-9 Conference Champions, Conference Tournament Champions, NAIA National Qualifier, Ranked #22 in the NationCoach Ray Aguirre enters his 5th season as pitching coach for Friends University Falcon softball team. Under Coach Aguirre the teams earn run average was one of the best in the conference at 2.33 in 2007 and 2.01 in 2008. Falcon pitchers increased their win totals along with strikeouts, and reduce the number of walks per game. The Falcons team ERA has been in the top 10 in the Nation the last two seasons.
Coach Ray Aguirre was born and raised in Wichita, where he attended Wichita East High School. He went to work at Beechcraft, Raytheon and now Hawker-Beechcraft and has been there for 30 years, but his passion is Fast pitch Softball. Growing up playing Fast pitch softball he played all position but mainly infield and pitcher and his love for the game brought him to coaching. He is the Head Softball coach at Augusta High School. His first year 2000, they were 4A State champs, again in 2006 and in 2005 they were runner up. In 2006, he also took on the Head Bowling Coach at Augusta. AHS won the 2006-2007 AVCTL title and finished 1st at Regional's and 4th at State. Along with having one of his bowlers, his daughter Rachael won 5-1A State title herself with a 701 series. Coach Ray also has been working for Gehrer Performance since 2002 providing private and group pitching & hitting lesson and helping with some of the other clinics.
Ray brings to Friends 20 years of pitching experience, playing and coaching. He attends clinics yearly to keep up with all the new techniques. His outlook on pitching is not to change what you are comfortable with but to fix your approach to work best for you.
Coach Ray resides in Wichita with his wife Barbie and daughter Shonda, grandchildren Brodie and Rayna, Son Mike and daughter Rachael.
Coach Jorge Martinez enters his 6th season as assistant coach for the Friends Lady Falcon Softball team. Coach Martinez works primarily with hitters and helped increase the stability of the Falcons batting average as one of the best in the KCAC. The Falcons have average a .325 batting average over the last 4 seasons.
Jorge was born and raised in Wichita, KS and went to Wichita South High School. He is a Co-Owner of JR Custom Metal Products, Inc, a family owned, custom manufacturing company that has been in business over 30 years. He serves in the community as a member of the West Sedgwick County Sunrise Rotary Club and does mentoring at Dodge Literacy Magnet Elementary. Also Jorge is President of JR Sports, Inc. which is an indoor batting facility as well as retailer for sporting goods. Martinez provides private instructions for baseball and softball players of all ages.
He has had a love of sports all of his life. Growing up he played soccer up to the collegiate level, ran cross country, was an All-American gymnast, and is an avid hunter. Coach Martinez has also coached soccer at many levels including kid's leagues and adults. As a softball coach, he has had 12 years experience, leading teams to State, Regional, and National championships.
Coach Martinez resides in Wichita with his wife Kim, daughter Amy, and the guardian of Sammy Bautista.
