The Friends University women's basketball moves into the semifinals of the KCAC post-season basketball tournament by defeating the Bethany College Swedes 56-42 Friday night at the Garvey PE Center.

The Falcons have won 15 straight games since returning from the Christmas break.

Winning the regular season championship, which earns the team a trip to the NAIA National tournament in Sioux City, IA the Falcons have now turned their attention towards winning the post-season tournament title.

Friends University raced to a 30-14 halftime lead against the Swedes which allowed Coach Rae Boothe to substitute freely through the second half to remain undefeated at home for the 2012-2013 season.

The Falcon offense was balanced by Inekka Stevenson with 15 points and 14 points by Sarah Munds.

Noted for their tough defense throughout the season the Friends University women held Bethany College to 28% in field goal attempts for the game.

Up next the Falcons will host Kansas Wesleyan University in an 8:00 p.m. contest Saturday night at the Garvey PE Center.

The winner will advance to the championship game of the KCAC tournament at Hartman arena on Monday, February 25 at 8:00 p.m.
