The road has been brutal for the Falcon Volleyball team going 0-8 in their first two tournaments in Nebraska and Kansas; however, the falcons have walked away stronger and more mature from their experiences in their first two tournaments.
The Falcons then landed at home and held back a fierce attack by the Coyotes of Kansas Wesleyan University to win their first conference match in five sets, followed by a tough loss to Ottawa on the road and a commanding win over KCAC runner up Tabor College at home to go 2-1 in Conference play.
Recently, the falcons returned home from the road after playing in the John Brown University Invitational Tournament in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. There the Falcons went 3-1 in match play defeating, Southwest Assemblies of God University (TX), Hudson-Tillotson University (TX), Southern Nazarene University (OK) an NCAA Div. II program and a heart stopping loss in five sets to a strong Evangels University (MO).
"We have walked away from a very tough and challenging first few weeks of season a stronger and more confident team. I am looking forward to us keeping our rhythm while we continue to refine and sharpen our game as we head into the midst of KCAC play" commented Coach Ayin.
The falcons are currently 2-1 in conference play and 5-10 overall and will be on the road this Wednesday in Lindsborg, Kansas to take on the Fighting Swedes of Bethany University. Match times are 530pm for Junior Varsity and 7:00 pm for Varsity.
