Hutchinson, Kan. - Falcons entered Day 2 of the KCAC Postseason Tournament competing against Bethany College in the championship game in the winners bracket. The Swedes would defeat the Falcons sending them to the losers bracket to face Southwestern College. Friends defeated the Moundbuilders to advance to the championship game to compete against Bethany College for the second time. Friends would have to beat Bethany twice in order to be crowned 2012 KCAC Tournament Champions. Unfortunately this was not meant to be as the Swedes would defeat Friends 3-5.

Championship Game in the Winners Bracket
This game featured the two best pitchers in the conference, Kesley Garner for Friends and Jennifer Garcia for the Swedes. Bethany would strike first taking a 0-1 lead in the bottom of the second. The closest the Falcons came to scoring was in the fourth with
Cheyenne Stewart recording the first hit for Friends hitting a double to center. The next batter would reach first on a hit by pitch. The next batter,
Danielle Dorosh flied out to third and the Swedes would tag Stewart on a base running error to record the double play to end the inning. Bethany added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-0 lead. Friends was unable to get any offense going in the top of seventh as they fell to the Swedes by a final score of 0-3.
Game 2 Friends vs. Southwestern College
Losers Bracket
Friends would take on Southwestern College in an elimination game. The first four inning was scoreless until the Falcons got their bats going in the fifth inning. Friends would score three runs to take a 3-0 led. The Moundbuilders climbed back in the bottom of the fifth scoring two runs. Friends added an insurance run in the top of the sixth defeating Southwestern College 4-2.
Game 3 Friends vs. Bethany College
KCAC Championship Game
After winninging back to back games, Friends found themselves playing in the KCAC Championship game against Bethany College. The Swedes would jump out to a 2-0 lead after three innings. Friends regained the lead in top of the fourth scoring three runs. In the bottom of the sixth, Bethany regained the lead with a series of hits scoring three runs. Friends found itself down 3-5 going into the bottom of the seventh, the bats never got going and the Falcons lost 3-5.
"The kids worked hard throughout the season even turning it up a notch in the tournament. As coaches we are proud of the effort and toughness they displayed this tournament, even though we came up a little bit short," said Head Coach
Tony Segovia. "We are going to miss our five seniors and appreciate everything they have done for the program."
Friends ends the season 12-6 in conference and 31-18 overall.
