Wichita, Kan. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has released the 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Football Scholar-Athletes.

Student-athletes are nominated by their institution's head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order to qualify for the honor.

Friends University Senior Reinhard Lugalia, and Juniors Cory Schmidt, Casey Baliel, Michael Evenson and Stephen Buesch all achieved Scholar Athlete Honors.

Friends University finished the 2011 season 5-5 overall.
