Wichita, Kan. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has released the 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Soccer Scholar-Athletes. The NAIA recognized 287 men's soccer student-athletes with the annual honor. Senior
Josh Funk was the lone Falcon to be honored as a Scholar Athlete.
Student-athletes are nominated by their institution's head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order to qualify for the honor.
Funk played a big role this season helping the Falcons reach the Championship game of the 2011 KCAC Postseason Tournament were they fell to Kansas Wesleyan University. Friends finished the season 7-2 in conference and 10-9 overall
