Wichita, Kan. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has released the 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Men's and Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athletes.

Student-athletes are nominated by their institution's head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order to qualify for the honor.

Friends University Seniors, Matt Ditzler, Jordan Arnold, Lindsay Dunham and Junior Michael Gurley all achieved Scholar Athlete Honors. Dunham and Arnold also achieved this honor in 2010.
 

As a Team both programs finished the year with great success. At the NAIA National Championship meet the men's team placed 16th and the women's team finished in 5th place. The Falcons placed 3rd in the combined ranking.
