Wichita, Kansas-The Friends University Women's Basketball team opened up their first conference game Thursday night against Ottawa University. With a strong team effort the Falcons came away victorious in a 68-66 win.

The lady Falcons were led by Abby Fawcett who led all scorers with 23 points and Minta Whetstone who finished the game with 14 points. It was an all-around effort from every Falcon to finish the job Thursday night. The Falcons started off slow but pulled away and led 33-23 at half.

Ottawa would not go away easy as they came back within two pints with their defensive pressure. The game went back and forth all the way down to the last second. Jacque Dean hit some very crucial free-throws at the end of the game to ensure a 68-66 victory.

The win improved the Falcons season record to 6-5 overall and 1-0 in conference.
