Cross Country - Thu, Oct. 20, 2011

The Friends University Cross Country teams are now both ranked 5th in the latest national poll that came out Wednesday, October 19th. Both of these rankings are the best rankings in school history. The men moved up four spots from 9th to 5th while the ladies moved up one spot from 6th to 5th. The combined programs are now tied for first in the nation with Cal State San Marcos, whose women are ranked 2nd and whose men are ranked 8th.

"I am very happy to see both programs in the top 5," Coach Brad Peterson said. "I felt like we have been running at that level the last few weeks and now others are starting to recognize it too. We are extremely excited to be tied for first in the co-ed national championship poll as that has been a goal from day one to be one of the best men's and women's cross country programs in all of NAIA."

The Falcons next run will be at Forest Park in St. Louis at the St. Louis Fall Classic this weekend, October 22nd.
