Cross Country - Thu, Oct. 13, 2011

Kansas City, Mo. - The Friends University cross country teams continue to move up in the national rankings every week. This week, both the men's and women's teams had their best rankings in school history. The women moved up one spot to 6th after their team championship at Fort Hays. The men jumped five spots to 9th after their runner-up finish at Fort Hays.

Coach Brad Peterson's comments: "I truly believe both teams are top 5 teams right now, probably closer to 3rd than 5th but we are excited that our program has two teams in the top 10 in the country for the first time ever. It is a tribute to the kind of student athletes that we have in our program. We have kids that truly get it and work very hard and make the right choices on and off the course. I couldn't be happier with the people we have in our programs. Rankings are nice but we know we have to get the job done at conference and at nationals for any of this to mean anything. The next five weeks are going to be a lot of fun."
