Men's Soccer - Mon, Dec. 6, 2010

Wichita, KS - Now that the fall sports national championships are completed the national honors have started to be announced. The Friends men's soccer team had four named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Soccer Scholar-Athletes. Three seniors made up this list along with one junior. The seniors were defender James Cooper, midfielders Michael Clifford and Corey Ouellette. Defender Josh Funk was the only junior to earn this academic honor for the Falcons.

The 2010 KCAC All-Conference teams have also been announced. This year seven players from Friends were honored. Two Falcons were named to the All-KCAC First team, two named to Second Team, and three received Honorable Mention honors. Senior forward Daniel Toledo and junior defender Josh Funk earned first team honors. Toledo had eight goals and five assists this season while Funk had one goal and two assists this season.

Second Team KCAC selections are junior Brent Hobson and senior defender Daniel Sack. Brent was team leader with ten goals and five assists for the season. Daniel had one assist and one goal on the season.

There were three Falcons named to Honorable Mention team. These student-athletes were senior midfielders Gabe Parham, Corey Wynn, and goalkeeper Brady Coffman. Corey had three goals and two assist in the regular season and Gabe had two goals. Brady Coffman had a solid regular season with 55 saves and he only allowed 22 goals, which equals up to 71.4 save percentage.
