Wichita, KS - Friends University Director of Athletics Joe Zimmerman will begin his new duties as part of his role on the NAIA National Administrative Council this week.

Zimmerman was voted last spring to represent the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference on the 32 member NAIA board. During the National Administrative Council meetings Zimmerman was assigned the role as NAC liaison to the Women's Soccer Association. Duties include participating in national rater meetings and attending the National Association of Collegiate Soccer Coaches business meetings in Baltimore, MD in January.

The NAIA Administrative Council also assigned the Friends Athletic Director to the National Rules & Ratings committee where recommendations and interpretations of NAIA rules are presented and reviewed. Zimmerman will serve as committee representative to the sports of Men's Basketball and Softball for the next two years on the national level.

Beginning his eighth year as Athletic Director, Zimmerman oversees 15 sport programs and 370 student athletes for the Friends University campus.
