Men's Golf - Tue, May. 5, 2009

The Friends University Men's Golf Team finished the 2009 season with a 4th place finish in the KCAC Conference Championship. As was the case with nearly every tournament the Falcons played this year, the weather was not very cooperative as they had to battle windy, cold and sometimes rainy conditions.

The first day of competition was a long day as the team played the first two of three total rounds for the tournament. Led by Nathan Read's 77, the Falcons posted a first round total of 326. Nearly everyone played better in the second round and the team improved to a 313, leaving them in 4th place after the first day of competition. The final day brought even colder and windier weather, and added some rain to make the conditions even more difficult and the team concluded the competition with a score of 320.

The Falcons three day total of 959 put them in 4th place for the tournament. Nathan Read led the Falcons with a three round total of 228, tying him for 8th place for the championship. Nathan's performance in the conference championship solidified his spot on the all conference team for the fourth consecutive season. This honor is given to the top ten individual players throughout the entire conference season.
