Belleville, Ill. -- The Friends University Falcons dropped a couple of 3-0 setbacks to the Cumberland (Tenn.) Phoenix and the St. Ambrose University Bees at the Battle of the Arch today (Sept. 9) in Belleville, Ill. 

The Falcons also lost yesterday by identical 3-0 scores to tournament host Lindenwood-Belleville University and No. 11-ranked Missouri Baptist University. 

Today, the Falcons fell by a score of 25-16, 25-23, 25-19 to Cumberland and 25-16, 25-15 and 25-16 to the Bees. 

The second set against the Phoenix was down to the wire, as a kill by Laken Whealy squared things at 22-22. 

But kills from Masa Nalovic and Amanda Worrell helped the Phoenix score three of the final four points of the set to take a commanding 2-0 lead. 

Cumberlands then got off to an 11-4 lead in the third set and finished the match out 25-19. 

Whealy led the Falcons (2-12, 2-0 KCAC) with seven kills and Kylee Glahn had a team-high 20 assists, one off her career-high. 

Brittany Harris and Megan Regier each tallied a team-best nine digs for Friends. 

Against the Bees, the Falcons were led by Victoria Dalhberg and Olivia Naccarato's five kills. Jana Boston recorded a team-best 12 assists, while Michaela Girard led Friends with eight digs. 

The Falcons will next resume action in the KCAC at home Wednesday night (Sept. 13) vs. Bethany College at 7 pm.
