WICHITA, Kan. - On April 18th, the Friends University Baseball team took down NAIA No. 1 Oklahoma City inside historic Lawrence-Dumont Stadium by a score of 6-4. The victory has been voted the No. 9 Moment of 2016-2017 by the Falcon coaches and staff.

Friends got on board early with two runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, with Augie Isaacson (SO/New Prague, Minn.) manufacturing a run (reaching on a hit by pitch, stealing second and scoring on a single). Jace Snodgrass (SO/Derby, Kan.) brought home the other run with a triple. Snodgrass would give the Falcons a 3-0 lead in the 3rd with another single after John Gardner (JR/Douglass, Kan.) reached with a double.

Three singles and a double allowed Oklahoma City to tie the game in the top of the 8th, but Friends bounced back in the home-half, drawing two walks with the bases loaded and two outs, and getting another run on a wild pitch to go up 6-3.

The Stars got one run back in the top of the 9th with a hit batsmen and a double, but Friends would close out the victory.

Falcon starter Daniel Rubio (SO/Temecula, Calif.) shut down the vaunted Oklahoma City offense for most of the game, allowing just six hits in the first seven innings. He ended up giving up three earned runs on nine hits with no walks and four strikeouts. The Stars would finish the season ranking in the top-10 in the country in 12 offensive categories, including runs scored, batting average and slugging percentage.

Sean Cruz (JR/Tasi Yona-Guam) picked up the win out of the bullpen, giving up one earned run on two hits with no walks and a strikeout in 1.2 innings.

Snodgrass led the offensive attack with three hits and two RBIs. Trimble and Jacob Gardner contributed two hits each.

Tune in throughout the summer for the rest of the Top 10 Moments.
