OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Friends University Baseball team is set for NAIA postseason action for the first time since 2014. The Falcons, an at-large selection to the Oklahoma City bracket, will take on the College of Idaho on Monday, May 15th at 11:00am in the No. 4-vs-No. 5 game. The Yotes earned an automatic bid by winning the NAIA West Group tournament.

Friends went 31-20 overall on the season with a 16-10 record in the KCAC to finish fourth in one of the strongest conferences in the NAIA. The Falcons earned their at-large bid on their season record, strength of schedule (No. 22) and their ranking in the Bo Chip Index (No. 28) to make the field of 45.

The College of Idaho went 24-28 and 14-18 in the Cal Pac/Cascade/Frontier conference.

Nine sites host a five-team double-elimination tournament from May 15th-17th, with each bracket winner advancing to the 2017 Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series that will take place in Lewiston, Idaho from May 26th-June 2nd.

The winner of the game will take on the No. 1 seed, NAIA No. 1 and host Oklahoma City on Monday evening at 6:00pm. The loser will play and elimination game against the loser of the No. 2-vs-No. 3 game of the bracket that features Mayville State and Campbellsville. That consolation bracket game will take place at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 16th.
