WICHITA, Kan. - In a vote by conference coaches, the Friends University men's tennis team was picked 3rd for the upcoming season and the women 8th as announced by the KCAC office Thursday afternoon.

The men's team returns its top two players in Pascal Wawrzinek (JR/Dusseldorf, Germany) and Ferdinand Ostrowicki (JR/Stuttgart, Germany). Wawrzinek finished the 2015 season ranked #9 in the ITA NAIA Men's Central Region Rankings while Ostrowicki was #14. The duo came in at #7 in the double rankings. Wawrzinek was ranked #50 in the nation in singles.

In 2015, the men's team finished 3rd in the regular season and lost to eventual champion McPherson in the semifinals of the KCAC Tournament.

Sebastian Smithback (JR/Garmisch-Partenkirchen, German) finished 5th in the Fall KCAC Tournament while Wawrzinek and Ostrowicki took home runner-up finishes.

The women's team was picked 8th, tied with Oklahoma Wesleyan. The Falcons will be looking to end a 22 match losing streak dating back to October of 2014.
