The Friends University men and women tennis teams exhibit excellence not only on the court but also in the classroom.

The NAIA has announced seven Falcon tennis players as NAIA Academic All-Americans. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

Student Athletes Samantha Hutson and Sarah Berry, seniors from Augusta, KS as well as senior Kassie Welch (Carlsbad, NM) were named as Women's Tennis Scholar Athletes.

From the men's program junior David Alley (Valley Center, KS) and seniors Robert Bloomquist (Topeka, KS) and Cory Cockrell (Carlsbad, N.M.) earned national academic honors.

During the past two academic years over 80 student athletes at Friends University have earned Academic All-American status again displaying that academic effort and success continues to hold high priority in the Friends University Athletic Department.
